Health Priorities between the United States and Global Population

Health Priorities between the United States and Global Population

All the four Healthy People Initiatives (1979, 2000, 2010 and 2020) have two health priorities in common; increasing the quality and years of healthy life for the American people and dealing with the issue of health disparities that America has been dealing with for several decades now. For the last two initiatives (2010 and 2020) are largely focused on promoting health equity by eliminating health disparities in areas like socioeconomic status, gender and race. As Batholomew Eldredge, et al. (2016) explains, the health priorities of the American people have been changing and transforming with time but much needs to be done.
